THINK ABOUT IT! - All Scuba Dives at all levels should be conducted as if they were a Solo Dive, It is when diving with a Buddy, that the dive will become a Social Activity. DO NOT BET 100% of YOUR SAFETY ON A BUDDY!
Solo Diver: The objective of the SOLO Diver Course is to train divers in not just the benefits of Solo diving but the hazards and proper procedures of Solo Diving
Solo Diver certification equipment requirements: It is recommended that each student has a diving computer and back up bottom timing device. Enriched air diving certification and/ or Introduction to Technical Diving is also recommended.
Solo Diver Certification Requires Two (2) open water dives to be conducted as a minimum to complete the certification.
Solo Diver Student must have basic open water equipment with a stowable surface marker and line reel and spare mask. Student must have a redundant air source with separate independent regulator and SPG. Pony Cylinder of minimum 40 cu ft, twin cylinders w/ isolation manifold, Isolated doubles are acceptable.
Note: Single Cylinder with H-valve is not considered a redundant air source due to possibility of burst disc rupture or O-ring failure.
CAUTION!! INSTRUCTORS WILL LET STUDENTS DEAL WITH ALL SKILL SETS AND REAL TIME EMERGENCY SITUATIONS AS IF ACTUALLY SOLO DIVING; HELPING OUT ONLY WHEN IT IS DETERMINED BY THE INSTRUCTOR TO BE UNSAFE OR UNMANAGEABLE. THE STUDENT WILL BE ASKED TO PLAN ANOTHER DIVE AT THE DISCRETION OF THE INSTRUCTOR
Solo Diver Prerequisites: Minimum Age 21 years, Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent with 100 Logged Dives.Diver will be asked to provide proof of logged dives.
