Although called Bird of Paradise shrub it is not related to the Strelitzia reginae. It can be grown in some regions of Oklahoma, Georgia, Texas and California where it is sufficiently hot. The seed should be planted at a depth of 1/2" and kept very warm, lightly moist and in bright light. Use well draining soil mixture and fertilize monthly.
