Eric Magnuson is a Partner at Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi L.L.P. and the former Chief Justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court. Judge Magnuson has more than three decades of experience and is regarded as one of the most effective and respected appellate attorneys in the nation. In his more than 35 years of practice, Judge Magnuson has developed a strong presence in appellate law. He has handled hundreds of appeals involving a wide range of issues, including the constitutionality of the public school finance system, employment law, trust and probate matters, trade secrets, business contracts, corporate fraud, insurance law and professional liability. Judge Magnuson has written widely on appellate rules and the art of advocacy. He is currently writing the 4th edition of Federal Appeals: Jurisdiction and Practice. Judge Magnuson is listed in Chambers USA and is recognized as a “Litigation Star” in Benchmark Litigation: Appellate. Susan P. White is a Partner at Manatt, where she represents clients in complex insurance coverage matters, including bad faith and other commercial and contract litigation matters. She has obtained substantial recoveries for her insured clients regarding the reasonableness and rates of attorneys’ fees and costs. Ms. White's clients span a range of industries including energy, telecommunication, software and internet technology, healthcare, aerospace, and financial services.
