Biography of Seminar Faculty:

1. Mark Cohen is a leading authority on piercing the corporate veil. He has over three decades of experience of experience in law, having served as a law school professor, Air Force Judge Advocate, Special Assistant U.S. Attorney, prosecutor, Judge, private practitioner, and major law publication editor. An accomplished writer, Mr. Cohen has authored six articles for the Am.Jur. Proof of Facts series, including on piercing the corporate veil. Mr. Cohen's mystery novels have been published by Time/Warner and ranked in the Book SenseĀ® Top Ten Mystery selection. Mr. Cohen has an interest in the use of Plain English rather than legal jargon. He studied logic and philosophy at the graduate level and is a member of the Institute for General Semantics. Mr. Cohen has been awarded numerous recognitions for his military law services, community commitment, and Air Force Officers writing, among others.

2. Jorge M. Abril has practiced law for over 30 years. He primarily represents businesses throughout both the United States and abroad in the field of consumer and commercial collections and related litigation; including post judgment remedies, supplementary proceedings, fraudulent conveyances, and shareholder liability. Additionally, Mr. Abril maintains an active practice in the area of healthcare reimbursement. The Abril firm represents hospitals, physicians and ancillary providers in managed care litigation and healthcare revenue cycle matters. Mr. Abril is a frequent lecturer in issues including the FDCPA, the FCRA, HIPPA, TCPA, TILA, Hospital lien enforcement, and numerous other credit, collection, consumer privacy, and healthcare reimbursement matters.
