Biography of Seminar Faculty:

1. Mark B. Morse has over twenty-five years of litigation experience, having handled cases before state supreme courts, appeals courts, as well as countless superior and district courts. Mr. Morse has also written and argued appeals to the United States Court of Appeals. He is a member of his state bar association’s House of Delegates, Executive Committee. Mr. Morse is also the Co-Editor of a Discovery and Deposition Practice Volume, which has received an award of "Best Publication" by a leading association. He has been certified in trial advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy since 2000 and has been nominated by his peers as a SuperLawyer.

2. Keriann Roman practices law in the areas of appellate law, land use and development, civil litigation and municipal law. Ms. Roman began her career as a law clerk for a State Supreme Court Justice followed by a clerkship to a Senior U.S. District Court Judge. Ms. Roman is experienced in preparing and arguing motions before the state courts of her bar, as well as in discovery matters and appellate practice in her bar’s state and federal courts. She has also managed discovery in a multi-district litigation. Uniquely familiar with state and federal practice given her clerking experience, Ms. Roman has co-authored a book chapter on discovery motions and practice. She serves on the Complaint Screening Committee of the Attorney Discipline Office of her state bar.

3. Sander Bak is a Partner at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP, where he has represented domestic and international corporations in many significant federal court litigations. He served as counsel in a matter in which he represented a foreign head of state, he has successfully argued complex constitutional issues related to wartime application of federal financial laws, he has been involved in several high-profile trust and estate matters, and he has had success in securities litigation matters, leading a well-known media publication to cite Mr. Bak for his securities litigation expertise. Mr. Bak has written and lectured extensively on international law and securities litigation issues. He previously practiced at Cravath, Swaine, and Moore. Mr. Bak holds a J.D. from Columbia Law School.
