Biography of Seminar Faculty:

Ronald L. Roodhouse, Jr. is a member of Stetson University College of Law’s Veterans Law Institute, focuses on veterans & elder law and provides guidance for those working on VA disability claims and discharge upgrades. Mr. Roodhouse began his legal career while serving as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Air Force. He served three years as a personnel officer before the Air Force’ prestigious Funded Legal Education Program selected him to earn his law degree. Following law school, Mr. Roodhouse served in the Air Force Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps, primarily focusing on military justice. He served as a base-level prosecutor and defender before being selected to serve as an elite Senior Defense Counsel. During his JAG career, he directly prosecuted or defended nearly 50 trials and supervised the prosecution or defense of 190 others. During his military career, Mr. Roodhouse completed thirteen tours, to include deployments as part of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM, with fields of law including administrative law, ethics, international law, and law of armed conflict. His decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal and Joint Service Commendation Medal. He retired from the Air Force at the rank of major.
