Biography of Seminar Faculty:

1. Kent Rutter is a Partner at Haynes Boone and a leader in the appellate bar and renown expert on recovering fees. Trial lawyers and clients across the country have sought out Mr. Rutter to help them gauge the odds that particular judgments will be reversed, and to determine which types of appellate arguments are most likely to lead to victory. He has spoken widely on evaluating appeals to hundreds of trial lawyers, appellate lawyers, and in-house counsel. In providing trial support, Mr. Rutter has developed winning strategies to preserve error, argue summary judgment motions, and draft jury charges. Mr. Rutter began his practice as a federal law. He holds degrees from Duke University and the University of Michigan Law School.

2. Susan P. White is a Partner at Manatt, where she represents clients in complex insurance coverage matters, including bad faith and other commercial and contract litigation matters. She has obtained substantial recoveries for her insured clients regarding the reasonableness and rates of attorneys’ fees and costs. Ms. White's clients span a range of industries including energy, telecommunication, software and internet technology, healthcare, aerospace, and financial services. She also provides advice to senior management and executives on how to mitigate risks and maximize insurance protections and recoveries with respect to policy procurement, negotiations, reviews, and renewals. Ms. White is listed as a SuperLawyer.

3. David A. Schuck is a leading authority on claims brought by employees against their current or former employers. He focuses on overtime wage claims, minimum wage claims, unlawful deduction from wages claims, and late payment of final wage claims. He has prosecuted both individual and class action wage claim cases. In addition, Mr. Schuck has also represented consumers against harassing debt collectors. Through his significant litigation experience, Mr. Schuck has assisted thousands of clients in recovering money damages, wages, penalty wages, costs, and attorney fees for prosecuting their claims.
