Biography of Seminar Faculty:

1. Karen O. Moury is a Member at Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott, LLC, where she represents and counsels clients on various issues related to public utility and administrative law. She represents companies, including rideshare entities, before the Public Utility Commission, other government agencies, and in court matters. Ms. Moury is involved in matters involving licensing, regulatory compliance, and enforcement proceedings. She obtained experimental services authority from the Public Utility Commission allowing a transportation network company to lawfully provide ridesharing services throughout her state. She was also successful in having complaints against energy suppliers dismissed by the Public Utility Commission. Ms. Moury has over 30 years of state government and administrative law experience, including 16 years in executive and management level positions. Immediately prior to entering private practice, she served as director of regulatory operations for her state's Public Utility Commission. In that role she oversaw the day-to-day operation and administration of seven bureaus performing legal, technical, and policy functions for all industries regulated by the PUC—electricity, natural gas, water, telecommunications, and transportation. Ms. Maury is a frequent lecturer on public utility & administrative regulations & licensing.

2. Zachary B. Pyers is a Partner at Reminger Co., LPA, where he litigates ridesharing, complex commercial, professional liability, tort, and class action matters. He represents clients in commercial disputes, including breach of contract claims, antitrust actions, covenants not to compete, and business torts. In his professional liability practice, Mr. Peyers represents attorneys, accountants, architects, engineers, surveyors, builders, real estate agents, insurance agents, directors & officers, and investment advisors in litigation and licensure proceedings. He also counsels several corporate clients on transactional matters. Mr. Pyers is an Adjunct Professor at Capital University Law School, where he teaches the school’s Mock Trial Competition Team and assisted in developing and teaches a course in depositions, electronic discovery, and expert witnesses. He is also a widely sought-after speaker and author on arbitration, torts, pleadings, and depositions. Mr. Pyers has received numerous awards for excellence in practice, including recognition by his peers as AV Preeminent Rated, listed as a SuperLaywer, and including as a "Top Lawyer" by several publications.
