Biography of Seminar Faculty:

1. Mindy H. Stern is a Partner at Schwartz Sladkus Reich Greenberg Atlas LLP, where her practice focuses on real estate law. She has extensive experience in leasing, acquisition, lending, as well as providing personal services to individuals in real estate law. Ms. Stern began her career as a federal law clerk, and previously practiced at Hughes Hubbard & Reed. She has been nominated by her peers as a SuperLawyer as well as named to Real Estate Weekly's 100 Women Real Estate Leaders for the 21st Century. Ms. Stern is an authority on and has spoken widely on real estate transactions, cooperatives, condominiums, and mortgages.

2. Howard Beck is a shareholder with Beck, Payne, Frank & Piper, P.C., where he focuses on commercial real estate, homeowner associations and civil and commercial litigation. In addition to providing general representation to a number of homeowner associations, he has been asked to act as an expert witness for complex homeowner association litigation matters. Mr. Beck is a highly sought-after author and lecturer on homeowner associations and common interest communities.

3. Michelle Maratto Itkowitz is a Partner at Itkowitz PLLC, where she practices real estate litigation. Ms. Itkowitz has over twenty years of experience, and is best known for her work in the area of commercial and complex-residential landlord and tenant law in the City of New York. She concentrates on Rent Stabilization and Rent Control, the Loft Law, SRO Law, Yellowstone injunctions, tenant buyouts, clearing buildings so that construction projects can go forward, and Rent Stabilization Due Diligence. She also is very experienced in general commercial litigation. Ms. Itkowitz is a highly sought-after lecturer and speaker on landlord/tenant law, having addressed over 16,000 attorneys in one series of lectures alone. She has been honored by her bar association's Volunteer Lawyer's Project for dedication to pro bono.
