Jeffrey S. Gard is a Partner at Gard Law Firm, LLC, where he focuses on criminal defense, civil litigation and marijuana business matters. He has litigated hundreds of cases, many through trial, in both state and federal courts. Mr. Gard has successfully litigated and argued cases before his state’s Court of Appeals and Supreme Court. He is a nationally recognized lawyer and lecturer on the subject of litigating carbon monoxide induced brain injury cases. In recognition for his efforts to help victims of carbon monoxide poisoning, he was asked to join forces with prominent carbon monoxide researcher, professor and author, Dr. David Penney, and respected neuropsychologist, Dr. Dennis Helffenstein, to teach lawyers and medical professionals how to help carbon monoxide injured victims navigate the legal system. His vast experience allows him to teach other attorneys across the country and has also given lectures at his alma mater, the University of Colorado School of Law. Mr. Ward is an adviser to local, state and federal government to develop legal policy and to enact various statutes and regulations. He is a member of the Faculty of Federal Advocates, a small group of lawyers and judges working to improve the federal court system. He is also one of only a handful of attorneys in his state to become a Life Member of his state’s Criminal Defense Bar, dedicated to protecting the rights of people accused of crimes.

Brian Huebsch is a Partner at Anderson & Jahde, P.C, where he has represented hundreds of clients in all stages of federal, state and local tax disputes—including co-counsel in a criminal tax case the Department of Justice characterized as one of the largest tax evasion cases in his state’s history, as well as representing a taxpayer in a seminal case ultimately prevailing before the United States Supreme Court. He is leading authority on medical marijuana business taxation. In 2009, Mr. Huebsch represented his first client in managing their way through the IRS’s newly announced Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Initiative (OVDI). Since, he has helped dozens of clients weave through each of the revisions to the program, including the 2011 OVDP, 2012 OVDP, and, currently, the Streamline Compliance programs announced by the IRS in June 2014. Through these efforts, Mr. Huebsch has brought each of his client’s back into compliance in their offshore reporting and tax obligations, saving them thousands in potential fines and penalties.
