Biography of Seminar Faculty:

1. Jodi Munn Schebel is a Partner at Bowman and Brooke LLP, where she focuses her practice on automobile product liability defense litigation and holds significant experience with discovery coordination and eDiscovery in commercial and business cases, complex litigation and class action matters. She serves as national discovery counsel for a major automotive manufacturer on class action and other product liability matters in both state and federal courts throughout the United States. Ms. Schebel develops and implements protocols for handling all aspects of case discovery including case strategy, case management conferences, claw back agreements, deposition protocols, ESI agreements, protective orders, privilege logs and document collection and review. She is responsible for drafting and arguing discovery and dispositive motions in courts across the country, and is actively involved in all areas of the discovery process, including drafting case management orders, initial disclosures, discovery requests and responses, and overseeing the entirety of the document collection and review process, including the retention and management of in-house and off-shore document review teams, as well as contract document reviewers. Additionally, she has extensive experience representing clients in business litigation, including product liability, commercial litigation, employment, contract and business tort matters. She has tried automotive product liability actions and has arbitrated cases under the American Arbitration Association standards. Ms. Schebel has been responsible for all phases of litigation in such cases, including pre-litigation claim assessment, development and execution of case strategy, written discovery, depositions, motion practice, expert witness retention and preparation, settlement negotiations and overall case management.

2. Randall Knutson is the founder and managing partner of the Knutson + Casey law firm, where he focuses his practice on personal injury, mass tort and vaccine law. He has tried hundreds of cases in his 25 years of practice, almost entirely in personal injury. He was also lead counsel in the Bearder vs. Minnesota, a case which won the rights of children to keep their DNA from being taken and stored by the State of Minnesota. Mr. Knutson has been involved in several high-profile data privacy cases with far-reaching impact. He has been voted by her peers as a SuperLawyer, Top 100 Trial Lawyer, and his state's Attorney of the Year. He is Board Certified Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and a widely sought-after lecturer on personal injury law and litigation.

3. Elizabeth Treubert Simon practices at Akin Gump, where she advises on a wide range of ethics and compliance-related matters. She has considerable experience in and lectures frequently on the use of metadata in litigation. Ms. Simon is involved in issues impacting firm risk management and client relations. Among other areas, these include resolving conflict-of-interest situations, advising on ethical questions, and assisting in the development of firm policies to support ethics and compliance best practices. Ms. Simon is an experienced litigator and legal ethics advisor, having spent her legal career representing clients in commercial and business litigation and appeals, including cases involving insurance coverage, professional liability, intellectual property, business torts and legal ethics. Prior to joining Akin Gump, Ms. Simon was a litigator. As a legal ethics advisor, Ms. Simon counseled lawyers and bar applicants on legal ethics matters, including disciplinary proceedings, fee disputes and bar admissions. She has represented clients in the disciplinary process. Ms. Simon speaks and writes extensively on ethics issues.
