Biography of Seminar Faculty:

1. Stephen J. Bigge is a Partner at Keebler & Associates. Mr. Bigge focuses his practice on developing comprehensive financial, estate and income tax analyses and wealth transfer techniques. He specializes in estate, gift and retirement planning, charitable gift planning, as well as trust and estate administration. Mr. Bigge is experienced in providing tax planning for individuals, trusts and flow-through entities and prepares individual and fiduciary income tax returns. In addition to a legal background, Mr. Bigge is also a Certified Public Accountant.

2. "J" Jackson Shrum is a member of Archer & Greiner’s Commercial Litigation Practice, where he focuses on probate and chancery litigation, as well as federal court litigation. He has represented corporate and individual clients on a variety of issues related to fiduciary duties, estates and trust litigation, guardianship actions, board disputes, partnership dissolutions, and shareholder derivative actions, among others. In his bankruptcy practice, he has represented debtors, creditors, creditors’ committees, secured parties, Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 Trustees and liquidation agents, lenders, executives, plaintiffs and defendants in avoidance, among others. Mr. Shrum previously served as law clerk to the Presiding Judge of the Chancery Division of his state's Civil Court.

3. John R. Wiktor is a Partner at Reed Smith, where focuses his practice on wealth transfer, business succession, asset protection, and philanthropy planning. Mr. Wiktor has assisted numerous high net-worth families, entrepreneurs and family offices seamlessly integrate their charitable, business succession and wealth transfer planning goals, and design, analyze and implement complex income tax and estate tax planning strategies. He also concentrates on creating tax-efficient and philanthropy-focused estate plans using private foundations, charitable trusts and offshore blocker corporations. Mr. Wiktor has also assisted numerous charitable organizations with governance issues and gift acceptance agreements, including the preparation and negotiation of a $30 million grant from a private foundation to an educational institution. He is also involved in the representation of individuals and charitable organizations as beneficiaries in will and trust disputes and in representing individuals and corporate fiduciaries in will and trust contest matters.

4. Lawrence Friedman is a recognized expert on trust and estate administration. Trained at the distinguished NYU Law School’s Tax program, Mr. Elder focuses his practice on estate and tax planning & administration, long term care planning, elder law, guardianships, and special needs planning. Mr. Friedman has been selected as a SuperLawyer and received the highest peer view rating of AV-preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell. He holds an LL.M. in Tax and a J.D., both from NYU Law School.
