Wild Bee Workshop CANCELED

SKU: $25.00
CANCELED - Participate in a wild bee workshop with Charity.

Did you know that there are over 300 different species of bees that are native to Alberta??

This workshop will introduce attendees to current knowledge about the diversity, ecology, and life cycles of the native bees who also call this beautiful province home. With hands-on demonstrations of some of the resources you can use to support bees in your spaces, Charity will show you how you can bee an ally. She’ll also use some examples from her own urban yard transformation from boring, dry, weedy, & compacted lawn to a diverse, rich, productive & beautiful Pollinator Paradise.

Charity has been a bug friend since 1994, when she took her first Entomology class at the University of Alberta. Since completing a Bug BSc, she has gone on to earn an MSc with a thesis focused on urban pollinator ecology within the City of Red Deer. Now she’s a part time instructor at RDP, a member of the Alberta Native Plant Council, director of the Alberta Native Bee Council, and the Red Deer River Naturalists Society, but her greatest love is sharing her fascination with bees with others in the communities of Central Alberta. Charity hails from the Alberta Native Bee Council. She will wow you with her knowledge. Learn about how to help conserve Alberta's native pollinator populations. Learn about their importance and what we can do.

We will need 10 people registered for this class to go forward. 11:00 am start time.
