CHARLES I, 1625-1649. By Jean Dassier. Bronze 41mm. Obv: Bust of Charles I, facing left, in armor and an ermine mantle. Leg: CAROLUS . I . D . G . M . BR . FR . ET .HIB. REX (Charles I, by the grace of God, king of Great Britain, France and Ireland). Rev: An urn-shpaed monument, on which Britannia is seated and raising a pall under which appears the amputated head of the king. At one side is the axe and at the other is a rose fallen from its stem. Exergue: NAT . 13 . NOV . 1600 . COR . 2 . FEBR . 1626 .
