Biography of Seminar Faculty:

1. Leon Andrew Immerman is a Partner at Alston & Bird, where he concentrates on federal income tax matters, including domestic and international tax planning and transactional work for joint ventures, partnerships, limited liability companies and corporations. Mr. Immerman has helped structure many sophisticated partnership and limited liability company transactions. He has represented the target or the acquirer in numerous corporate mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Immerman is a frequent author and speaker on domestic and international income tax topics. His articles have appeared in numerous publications. Mr. Immerman is listed in THE BEST LAWYERS IN AMERICA, CHAMBERS USA: AMERICA’S LEADING LAWYERS FOR BUSINESS and SUPER LAWYERS magazine. He is a graduate of Yale Law School and holds a Ph.D. from Princeton University.

2. Donna Ray Berkelhammer practices at Sands Anderson, where she focuses on contract and commercial law, business formation, mergers and acquisitions, licensing, among other areas of corporate legal interest. Ms. Berkelhammer routinely counsels business leaders through transactions during the entire life of the company, including formation; growth; sale, merger, or winding-up; and business succession planning. She regularly works with entrepreneurs to bring a business concept to the marketplace, as well as guiding established companies through critical negotiations. Ms. Berkelhammer also has considerable expertise in negotiating, financing and closing complex real estate transactions, including representing buyers, sellers, lenders and developers of retail shopping centers and residential condominium properties. She is a graduate of The George Washington University in Washington.

3. Edward Gartenberg is a Founding Partner of Gartenberg Gelfand Wasson & Selden LLP, where he focuses his practices on business litigation, securities, and arbitration. He formerly served as a Staff Attorney and Special Counsel for the Division of Enforcement of the United States Securities & Exchange Commission, and as a Special Assistant United States Attorney for the United States Attorney's Office. Mr. Gartnerberg serves as an arbitrator for the National Association of Securities Dealers. He is the Cahir of the Partnerships and LLC Committee of the Business Law Section of his state bar. He has spoken & written widely on partnerships, limited liability companies, and securities law. Mr. Gartnerberg earned his J.D. at Columbia Law School.
