Biography of Seminar Faculty:

1. David Markowitz is one of the most sought after trial lawyers in the country. He is recognized by Chambers USA as one of the top commercial litigators in Oregon and is one of few litigators ranked nationally. Mr. Markowitz is included in Lawdragon's 500 Leading Litigators in America and 500 Leading Plaintiffs' Lawyers in America. His commanding presence and keen instincts have made him a courtroom icon as he has represented countless victims to significant settlements and judgments. Over the last two decades, he has led Markowitz Herbold Glade & Mehlhaf from its beginning as an ambitious two-attorney litigation shop to its present status as one of the premier business litigation firms in the region. Mr. Markowitz is a graduate of the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law.

2. Damian D. Capozzola is the founding Partner of The Law Offices of Damian D. Capozzola, where he represents among the most prominent and largest insurers and health plans. In addition, Mr. Capozzola has also handled significant litigation matters across a broad spectrum of industries, representing some of the world's largest defense contractors, food manufacturers and wholesalers, and telecommunications companies. He has extensive experience in taking and defending depositions, and he has written and lectured on litigation strategies, including the effective use of technology in the courtroom, as well as working with experts. For the last decade, he has been a co-author of the Trial Practice Series treatise, Expert Witnesses in Civil Trials: Effective Preparation and Presentation. A graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, Mr. Capozzola has been listed in SuperLawyers and appointed by the governor of his state to the Law Revision Commission. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law.
