ASK Menstrual Pain/ Dysmenorrhea:

Troubling Menstrual Pain

The crampy, lower abdominal menstrual pain occurs around the start of my menstrual period. It can radiate into my legs and back; I feel sick. It can keep me from school; mom finds me rocking on the toilet.

What can I do from home?

iDoctor says

*1: Take 2 ibuprofen (Advil®, Alleve®, Naprosyn®, IB Motrin®, etc.) every 2 hours to a maximum of 3200 mg a day.

*2: Next, if there is a Viagra® (50mg) or generic sildenafil 20mg/each in the house, crush 50-60mg and put in on K-Y® jelly and insert itinto the vagina.

*3: See the gynecologist. You should have a pelvic examination and may want to start birth control pills.
The oral contraceptive pill works both for birth control and to reduce the menstrual flow and pain.

*4: If the pain persist, the doctor might offer a cycle of low dose oral danazol 100-200mg with spirolactone 100mg twice daily.
Alternatively, the danazol 50mg vaginal suppository can be inserted into the vagina.
This reduces blood flow, reduces the pain, and the premenstrual fluid.

*5: If the pain persists or pregnancy is desired soon, the doctor might suggest diagnostic office ultrasound,
X-ray or out-patient diagnostic and therapeutic laparoscopy surgery.

*6: Editor has a patented new treatment for menstrual pain and confirmed endometriosis,
which completely stops the menstrual period without causing hot flashes or osteoporosis.
It is a simple weekly to 10 day injection (of medication like danazol).
The medication of mixed androgens without testosterone needs a prescription from your physician.
If this relieves the pain, surgery may not be necessary at this time. Review Patent
