The Easy Tapper EZ-1 Hot Tapping Machine is ideal for hydronic heating and cooling applications, water, steam, air and various other fluids where the main line pressure operates at a maximum of 120 PSI. A drill motor can be attached to the back end of the cutter shaft to rotate the cutter. forward pressure for the cutter is applied manually through the drill motor. As the pilot bit penetrates the wall of the main line there will be a back pressure exerted on the drive shaft from the pressure within the main line. The back pressure will be 1/5Th of the main line pressure. For Example: 100 PSI within the main line will put a 20 pound back pressure on the cutter shaft. This back pressure can be overcome by applying forward pressure to the drill motor and continuing the cut through the wall of the main line with the hole saw.
