Inspired by "The Hope Diamond" legend, AMERICAN Blue DIAMONDS was born as a family tradition in 2005. The first store is located at 13201 FM620N, Ste R110, Austin, Texas 78717. This store has been operated for 5 years by August 2010.
Mrs. LINH NGUYEN, owner, is proud of her new jewelry business venture in the United States although she is not new to business! Ms. Nguyen owned 6 large electronics stores in Saigon City, Vietnam when just 18 years-of-age. Arriving in the United States at age 30, her intention was to become a pediatrician; she attended school and graduated from The University of Texas at Austin, obtaining a B.A. in Biology in 2002 and a B.S. in Psychology in 2004. Never believing she had enough knowledge and finding a new interest in precious gemstones and jewelry, she then attended the Gemological Institute of America in California and gained a Graduate Gemologist in 2008. Mrs. Nguyen also learned the skills necessary to become a bench jeweler at Austin Community College. She also worked in three different jewelry chain stores: Ben Bridge, Gordon, and Kay Jewelers to gain more about gemstones and business experience. For 3 years working in jewelry chain stores, Ms. Nguyen loved her job, but found she was disappointed in the way these stores conducted business. Neither the quality of merchandise offered nor the customer service provided was of the superior standard she provided to customers in her 12 years electronics business. Mrs. Nguyen finally figured out that nothing would make her happier than working for her own ideas, fascinating customers with new designs, providing the best quality merchandise, and offering the best customer service. Mrs. Linh Nguyen was also recently obtained Computer Aided Design training with Gemvision. She has own and operated Computer Aided Milling System - the latest technology for jewelry designers and manufacturers. Her shop now is a complete full service from a design scratch to wax, to cast, and to set stones to be a final jewelry product. Customers can have their dream rings to be made. She also has new service in CASH for unwanted GOLD, PLATINUM, and DIAMONDS.
