For tough spots, such as oil, paint, markers, lipstick, ink, tar, or cigarette marks, use acetone/nail polish remover on a clean white cloth, then wipe with a damp cloth. Always avoid allowing liquids to stand on your floor. Sweep, dust, or vacuum the floor regularly with the hard floor attachment (not the beater bar) to prevent accumulation of dirt and grit that can scratch or dull the floor finish. Basic Cleaning Guidelines: Remove loose dirt by using a non beater bar vacuum or a dust mop. Use any reputable laminate floor cleaner. Follow recommended guidelines & avoid the use of water. Do not use abrasive cleaners, steel wool, soap based detergents, waxes, polishes, or scouring powder because they may scratch or dull the flooring surface. Wipe up spills immediately. Avoid allowing liquids to stand on your floor. A more frequent dust mopping or vacuuming schedule may be required in high traffic or sandy areas. For tough spots, such as candle wax or chewing gum, harden the spot with ice and then gently scrape the spot with a plastic scraper. Even a credit card will do. Just wring cloth well before use. It is recommended to remove any wet spills immediately to avoid liquid penetration into the seams. Use caution when moving large appliances such as refrigerator, ranges, etc. Use protective mats at exterior entrances and in heavy traffic areas. Don’t use “mop-and-shine” products. They’ll leave a dull film. Never wax or polish your floor. Routine cleaning requires just vacuuming, dusting with a clean, dry cloth, or a damp mop to prevent loose dirt or grit from scratching your floor’s finish. Use non-staining walk-off mats by the entrance of all outside doorways. Use a damp mop to remove footmarks and most stubborn dirt. Always be sure that your mop has been thoroughly wrung out. Never wet mop, or use excessive amounts of water on your the laminate floor. Marks and stubborn stains can easily be removed with Acetone™ nail polish remover or other mild, solvents containing alcohol.
