This photograph was taken a few years back, but that’s me, in my Easter bonnet and sunglasses, ready for spring
One of the things I love best about spring is the way the earth comes alive with light and color, freeing us from the gray and darkness of winter. The sun is warming up, the days are getting longer and it doesn’t feel like it is always night. In Wisconsin, the grass is greening up again, the birds are singing, and I even saw the tips of purple crocuses peaking through the dirt in my neighbors yard.
Just as the earth comes alive in spring, you can use this natural cyclical energy to rise out of the darkness in your own life. Learn how in this issue’s article, “Use Springtime Energy for a Personal Burst into New Life.”

What Would You Do Differently if You Knew Anything was Possible?
By Kailean Welsh
Spring Equinox, also known as the Vernal Equinox was officially Monday, March 20, and now we’re in the midst of Easter Week, with Christian traditions celebrating the passion, crucifixion, and resurrection of Christ.
It is not just coincidence that these two events align. Long before it became a Christian Holy time, Easter was a pagan festival of resurrection and triumph of life over human death and form.
In a bigger picture, far beyond religious ideas or Easter egg hunts, Spring Equinox and Easter merge to carry a message of greater spiritual truth.
In springtime, life on Earth is influenced by an influx of universal energy. The ancient Egyptians knew this. They build the Great Sphinx so it points directly toward the rising sun on the day of vernal equinox. The Mayans knew it also. They left a phenomenal display of their knowledge at the Chichen Itza pyramid. Each year on the spring equinox, the light of the sun makes a play of light and shadow on the stairs.
All of the earth’s seasons are energetically designed to promote specific evolutionary needs. They are actual astronomical events. We see this truth reflected in the hidden mysteries and cycles of Nature. Autumn is the time to plant seeds. Winter is the gestation of the seed and the taking root. In spring is the bursting forth of those seeds into new life that will be harvested in the summer.
In spring, there is a reduction in the Earth’s magnetic field, making it easier to release old patterns and awaken new ones. As we attune to this cycle, we support our evolution and our personal transcendence.
